Exclusion of the Press and Public

The Sub-Committee is recommended to exclude the press and public from the meeting during consideration of the remaining item on the agenda in accordance with the provisions of section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972 which is:

 

Information relating to any individual (Schedule 12A:1).

Information which is likely to reveal the identity of an individual (Schedule 12A:2).

Information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information) (Schedule 12A:3).

That the press and public are excluded from the meeting during consideration of agenda item 5 in accordance with the provisions of section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972 which is:

6.

Appointment of the Director of Public Health

The Committee is charged with interviewing candidates and, if appropriate, to appoint a Director of Public Health.

Minutes:

 

The suitability of the remaining applicant (following the results of the assessment tests) was considered by means formal interview.  Questions asked during the interview covered the areas of technical experience, strategic management, corporate working, cultural change, performance culture, partnership working, leadership, people management and self-development.

 

Having considered all the information available the Sub-Committee

 

Resolved

 

That Sarah Scott, currently Interim Director of Public Health at Gloucestershire County Council, be recommended to the Secretary of State for Health for appointment as the Director of Public Health at Gloucestershire County Council.

 

 

Post meeting notes 12 October 2015:

 

Cllr Theodoulou, as Deputy Leader of Council (in the absence of Cllr Hawthorne, Leader of Council) and on behalf of the Cabinet, in accordance with the Officer Employment Procedure Rules (Part 4 of the Constitution), indicated his agreement to the recommendation to the Secretary of State.

 

James Mapstone, representing Public Health (England), on behalf of the Secretary of State, confirmed his acceptance of the Sub-Committee’s recommendation.
