The minutes of the meeting held on 9 December 2023 were confirmed and signed as a correct record.

 

5.

Exclusion of the Press and Public

The Sub-Committee is recommended to exclude the press and public from the meeting during consideration of the remaining item on the agenda in accordance with the provisions of section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972 which is:

 

Information relating to any individual (Schedule 12A:1).

Information which is likely to reveal the identity of an individual (Schedule 12A:2).

Information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information) (Schedule 12A:3).

 

Minutes:

RESOLVED that the press and public be excluded from the meeting during the consideration of agenda item 6 in accordance with the following provisions of Section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972:

· Information relating to an individual (Schedule 12A:1)

· Information that is likely to reveal the identity of an individual (Schedule 12A:2)

· Information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (Schedule 12A:3)

 

6.

Appointment of Deputy Chief Executive & Executive Director of Corporate Resources

The Committee is charged with interviewing candidates and if appropriate appoint a Deputy Chief Executive & Executive Director of Corporate Resources.

Minutes:

Two candidates were interviewed by the Appointments Sub-committee for the position of Deputy Chief Executive & Executive Director of Corporate Resources.

 

The suitability of the candidates were considered by means of a presentation and a formal interview. The presentation covered the following: ‘As Deputy Chief Executive of the Gloucestershire County Council, what is your role in delivering the county’s “Building Back Better” strategy, and how do you ensure that members are engaged in the progress.’

 

Questions asked related to corporate working, equalities, teamworking, measuring success, partnership working, budget management and working with council members.

 

Having considered all the information available to the sub-committee, it was

 

RESOLVED that Nina Philippidis be offered the position of Deputy Chief Executive & Executive Director of Corporate Resources.

 

 

Post meeting note 10 November 2023: Cllr Mark Hawthorne, as Leader of the Council and on behalf of the Cabinet, in accordance with the Council’s Employment Procedure Rules (Part 4 of the Constitution), confirmed that he had no objections to the offer of employment to Nina Philippidis.
