Exclusion of the Press and Public The Sub-Committee is recommended to exclude the press and public from the meeting during consideration of the remaining item on the agenda in accordance with the provisions of section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972 which is:
Information relating to any individual (Schedule 12A:1). Information which is likely to reveal the identity of an individual (Schedule 12A:2). Information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information) (Schedule 12A:3).
Minutes: RESOLVED that the press and public be excluded from the meeting during the consideration of agenda item 6 in accordance with the following provisions of Section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972:

Appointment of a Executive Director of Children's Services The Committee is charged with interviewing candidates and if appropriate appoint a Exective Director of Children’s Services. Minutes: Two candidates were interviewed by the Appointments Sub-committee for the position of Executive Director of Children’s Services.
The suitability of the candidates were considered by means of a presentation and a formal interview. The presentation covered the following: ‘What are the key changes that need to happen to ensure our children’s services are consistently ‘good’ and why will that journey be better and faster if you are appointed.’
Questions asked related to technical expertise, strategic management, corporate working, culture change, equalities and diversity, performance culture, partnership working, leadership, people management and self-development.
Having considered all of the information available to the sub-committee, it was RESOLVED that Ann James be offered the position of Executive Director of Children’s Services.
Post meeting note 9 December 2022:
Cllr Mark Hawthorne, as Leader of the Council and on behalf of the Cabinet, in accordance with the Council’s Employment Procedure Rules (Part 4 of the Constitution), confirmed that he had no objections to the offer of employment to Ann James. |
