Pursuant to an Authorisation from:

Cabinet decision dated 16th November 2016 authorising Nigel Riglar, Commissioning Director: Communities & Infrastructure to:

a) Support Libraries & Information membership of CUSP
b) Use the mechanism provided under the CUSP Framework to award a contract for the purchase of library stock whose term will be 3 years with an option to extend by 1 further year following a mini competition.

Having fully considered all the available information, the Head of Libraries and Registration Service decided to reject any alternative options and for the reasons set out in the published decision report, and in consultation with the Cabinet Member: Public Protection, Parking and Libraries, take the recommended decision(s), to: 


1. Exercise the option to extend the current Library Stock contract with Askews and Holts Library Services Ltd for two years from 1 October 2020, noting that this will be a variation of the original decision which was to contract for 3 years with an option to extend for one further year.


2. Instruct the Assistant Director for Legal Services to affix the seal of Gloucestershire County Council to any document required to give effect to this decision.
