The purpose of this report is to outline
proposed changes to the way in which we fund support for children
with additional needs, including Special Educational Needs and
Disabilities (SEND). The report explains how we propose to adjust
funding models to support early intervention and reduce pressures
on statutory processes.
Cllr Richard Boyles, Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Children’s Safeguarding and Early Years and Cllr Patrick Molyneux, Cabinet Member for Economy, Education and Skills sought Cabinet approval for the implementation of Banded Funding.
Having considered all of the information, Cabinet noted the report and,
RESOLVED:
1. That Cabinet approves the proposal for implementation of Banded Funding,
and;
2.
That implementation of Banded Funding is applied to all new
cases.
3. That implementation of Banded Funding is applied to existing EHCP cases when they are evaluated at the annual review, and migrate to the new model.
