Apprenticeships training services for non qualified social work staff for Children & Families and Adult Social Care

To seek approval to conduct an EU compliant procurement process for apprenticeships training services for non qualified social work staff for Children & Families and Adults Clusters. The decision to be taken by:

Cllr Richard Boyles: Cabinet Member for Children’s Safeguarding and Early Years,

Cllr Kathy Williams: Cabinet Member for Adults Social Care Delivery

The shortage of qualified social workers is a national issue. The council has significant gaps in the resources it needs to manage the demand on social work services. One of the few strategies available to the council for increasing the social work resource is to develop our own pool of stable professionals with a commitment and loyalty to Gloucestershire. It is envisaged that a decision to use local and existing staff will increase loyalty to Gloucestershire.
